3 Day Private Tanzania Safari in Nyerere National Park

A warm Habari and welcome to Tanzania. You will be collected by one of our safari vehicles from your hotel in the center of Dar Es Salaam, with tasty packed lunches provided for the journey (approx 6h). Our destination, the Nyerere National Park, is one of the largest and oldest game reserves in Africa. This off-the-beaten-track park is known as a hidden gem. Nyerere National Park was already declared a National Heritage Sight, nearly 50 years ago. It is unique in its preserved habitats, wildlife diversity, and crowd-free peacefulness.

We arrive at our camp, Rufiji River Camp, in the afternoon. After settling in and relaxing for a while, we take an afternoon game drive in an open-sided, 4x4 safari vehicle to see your first elephant, buffalo, and other wildlife roaming the vast grasslands of Nyerere. After this exciting excursion, we'll return to our camp to relax and enjoy a hearty supper. Tune in to the sounds of the wildlife at night and enjoy being in Africa.

After breakfast, we're all set for our exciting full-day game drive in Nyerere National Park. This enormous Tanzania national park has a huge number of wild animals, including the Big Five - you'll be seeing elephants, large herds of buffalo, lions, giraffes, hippos, and zebras. The smaller predators like wild dogs (painted wolves), hyenas, and jackals all roam around here and many species of antelope are plentiful too. The bird lovers will be thrilled with sightings including kingfishers, palm-nut vultures, and fish eagles, to name a few.
The scenery is varied, beautiful, and serene - open grassland plains, woodlands, and even numerous lakes with rich birdlife. After a day filled with many exciting moments, we return to our camp, where a mouth-watering meal and a comfortable, relaxing evening await us.

We'll leave Nyerere National Park after breakfast to take you back to Dar Es Salaam. Time to say goodbye to this special wild place, one of the biggest parks in Tanzania. A pleasant drive awaits with tasty packed lunches provided. You will be dropped off at your hotel in the city center of Dar es Salaam with a sincere wish to return to Tanzania.
