Itinerary
A Bamboo Ecotours driver/guide will pick you up in Kigali between 7am & 11am and drive to Volcanoes National Park. The drive from Kigali to Volcanoes National Park is estimated 3hrs. Before departing Kigali, there is an option to visit the Genocide Memorial and Museum. Alternatively, if interested, visit Iby'iwacu cultural experience at the base of Volcanoes National Park. Dinner and overnight at Volcanoes National Park
We will take a short drive to the Volcanoes National Park gate immediately after breakfast to get a briefing about the gorilla trek. The national park guide will conduct the presentation covering the gorilla trekking regulations. The national guide will assign the gorilla trekking group during the pre-trekking briefing. Other visitors will likely join you. The gorilla trek can take a few hours, depending on how far the gorillas are inside the forest. After the gorilla trek, return to the lodge for a well-deserved rest.
This will be the last day of the 3-Day Rwanda Gorilla Trekking Budget Safari. We will drive from Volcanoes National Park back to Kigali city. The drive to Kigali is estimated at 3hrs. Note that on Day 3, there is an option to trek golden monkeys in Volcanoes Gorilla National Park before driving to Kigali. The cost for the permit is an extra $100 per person. If you are interested in doing other optional community activities before driving back to Kigali, please discuss with your driver/guide.
